The Obama Brew

6:00 am this morning, and I haven't slept a wink. Truly. I went to be whilst reading my homework, tossed and turned for about an hour - maybe less - and finally decided to come out into the front room and watch the morning news. I have not been up this early and watched the morning news on CNN since I was a junior in high school. No lie.
So, I heard that there is this local coffee shop somewhere back East that has created the Obama Brew, a combination of coffee beans from Indonesia, Kenya, and the U.S. So, this is a great idea for getting clientele. Whoever it was, kudos go out to you, my brother.
I'm not sure why I suddenly find myself in a world of insomnia. I even take a sleep medication and still, I cannot let my mind rest. Your guess is as good as mine as to why. However, it's not like I can have no sleep and then go on my merry little way. It has serious downsides. Even if I tried, I would not be able to handle get a grip on being awake and let my mind really think, focus, and concentrate. This makes school interesting, for sure. Not to mention, being the only one up at 4 in the morning can be really lonely.
Alright, all that whining aside, there are a lot of problems in the world right now, even more just this morning. Listening to the news this morning, I have learned that CitiBank is cutting 50,000 jobs, Southern California is burning up and people are losing their homes, and Congressmen are proposing to try to bail out the auto industry, because, hey, who doesn't need a bailout right now?
Sometimes I wonder what money will be left in the next decade...?
Is it possible that I'm not sleeping because of all the destruction that's going on around me? People have jumped out of windows over less. But I hate to end on such a low note: it's Monday! What a way to start the week!
Oh, and I'm not sure how I feel about Hillary Clinton being the next Sectretary of State...?
I think I may go to the library today and find some medical research logs from the 19th century; I'm curious about how they handled disease.
I'm also eager to see the new Bond movie: don't hate me.
We'll finish this later...
